"People :!: " Please say this isn't so. I read this very small comment in a local Brisbane street press magazine, (probably making the rounds of all tidbit columns everywhere).

I certainly don't like the sound of it if it is true.

I too have paid (wasted) a few dollars in my life, for that illusive chance of winning that damn jackpot, I don't believe it is worth wasting any more money on it. I doubt it would be any different anywhere else in the world either. I find gambling as distasteful as tobacco as a legally available product.

I remember reading with pride when Gene said they had turned down advertising cigarettes in the 1970's because "we could have been poisoning a whole generation"!

Clearly they had a "social conscience" where it countered most.

If it is true and this lottery does exist, what a shame they did not exercise the same judgement with gambling, as a likewise area you would not want to have your respected name associated with.

It's true. It was on the front pages of KOL a few weeks back. Officially endorsed.

However, this is not near their first foray into the wells of gambling. There were official Palm Casino gambling chips sold through KOL not so many years ago. Sets of $5, %25 and $100 chips could be purchased and they were all legal in the casino.

As a person who "invests" in Lotto tickets every week I don't see a problem with it.

A little perspective also.

Kiss have turned down cigarette advertising, yet they sell ashtrays and lighters.

Kiss have turned down alcohol advertising, yet they sell wine, shotglasses, beer steins and even had a European Reunion show advertised on a beer can.

Personally, I think the individual has to take responsibility for themselves and decide what not to buy from what's out there.
