Post 1980-1989
Hi all, been noticing that a few threads have been hijacked with various points of discussion, so i thought it would be great to start a thread about my love, the 80s. Feel free to post anything that happened in the years 1980-1989 eg, movies, sporting events, births, deaths, concerts, world events, songs etc etc etc.

Hijacked with discussion? I don't see it, but ok. :? I thought discussion is what discussion boards were for?

The 80's?

Great fun.

80-85 High School

1980 First Kiss live show
1983 Part of the winning Waratah Shield (statewide schoolboys rugby knockout) team.
1984 Saw Twisted Sister live, still one of my most favorite concerts.

I loved the 80's. Lets see:

I saw KISS for the first time in 1980
The Bulldogs win premierships in 1980, 1984, 1985 & 1988
Countdown every Sunday night
MTV debuted
Video recorders (or Beta as some may have owned)
80's 'hair bands'. Motley Crue, Poison & Bon Jovi to name a few.....
Great 'chick flicks' such as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty In Pink & St. Elmo' Fire.
Seeing great bands every weekend at local pubs/clubs
Rob Lowe

Oh yeah, & I met my future husband in 1985!

Now I'm really feeling old. The best things that happened in the 80s was I finished high school, travelled overseas, my own car, met my husband in 1988. Of course the music in the 80s was by far the best - singstar80s is the most played in our household  Naturally the worse thing to happen to me in the 80s was not being allowed to see KISS in 1980  to my mum's eternal regret.Never forget, never forgive

Googet I own all those movies... Plus Flashdance, Footloose, Last Starfighter, and a bunch of OTHER 80's movies that Im sure no one else wants to know about hahaha

I became a teenager in 1987 *shrugs* thats the only 80's special thing that happened directly to me...

Most of what I remember about the 80's is from when I was living in a small town south of Perth... I remember having a VCR with a "remote control" ATTACHED to it with a long cord, driveway service at Petrol stations..1c and 2c lollies..$1 and $2 NOTES.. and PAPER notes..

Kiss's first-ever replacement member, Eric Carr was announced in late July 1980.

Vinnie Vincent officially replaced Frehley as lead guitarist in December 1982. Vincent was fired at the conclusion of the tour in March 1984 - he was never even made an official member of Kiss to begin with, as a contract making his employment official was never signed. (Wikipedia quote!!!)
